Asher Renton - Co-Chair

Asher is a final year graduate medical student at St George’s, and has an undergraduate in Medical Biochemistry. His current interests are paediatrics and anaesthesia. Alongside being SJMA co-chair, Asher is also a Jnetics screening advisor, and lead clinical skills peer tutor for SGUL. In his spare time, when not teaching, volunteering with CST or running his shul minyan, he loves Arsenal, badminton and plane spotting.

Rebecca Myers - Co-Chair 

Rebecca is a final year medical student at Bristol Medical School, currently based between Swindon and London. She is interested in Psychiatry and spent her elective in London and Hertfordshire with the CAMHS teams. After a year out last year as a UJS Sabbatical Officer, Rebecca is excited to continue to support Jewish Students as one of this years Co-chairs. In her spare time, now finals are out of the way, she has picked up reading again and is enjoying the slower pace of her final few months as a student.

Avi Miller - Publicity Officer

Avi is a final year medical student and the University of leeds, and is this year’s SJMA publicity officer. This role involves advertising SJMA events, managing the association’s social media accounts, and liaising with our local representatives. Avi intercalated in Physiology, has worked for the national mental health charity ‘Mind Health’, and is the president of his medical school’s acute medicine society. In his free time, Avi plays tennis, enjoys walking his dog with his family, and going to the theatre on the weekends.

Yael Ben-David – Mentorship Scheme Director

Yael is a final year medical student at City St George’s, currently serving as the Mentorship Scheme Director for the SJMA. In this role, she coordinates the Jewish Medical Mentorship Scheme, linking Jewish medical students with doctors across the UK for guidance and support. She is particularly passionate about building strong networks within the community and helping students feel supported throughout their medical journey. She is also a clinical skills peer tutor and a lead communication skills peer tutor in St George’s. Outside of medicine, Yael enjoys reading, travelling and aerial yoga, and is training to be an aerial yoga teacher.
